The Elite Theatre was a silent era theatre in downtown Hartford, Alabama. In 1929, the theatre was renamed the Rosemont Theatre after remodeling and switching to non-synchronous Phototone sound playing silent films with recorded music. The theatre converted to sound in 1930. It went out of business on November 3, 1948 with Red Skelton in “Southern Yankee”. The reason for closure was the opening of the new Rose Theatre by A.C. Saunders.
