The Bijou Theatre launched in 1912. It closed July 31, 1922 likely at end of lease with “Silk Husbands and Calico Wives” starring Alfred E. Green and House Peters.

Christianson & Bowen took on the venue renaming it December 21, 1922. New operators Hanley and Pepper transitioned the Cozy Theatre to sound on July 4, 1929. The Cozy Theatre’s last film was was James Cagney in “G Men” on October 26, 1935. The Cozy Theatre burned down on October 27, 1935.

The town got a new movie house when the new Hope Theatre launched inside the Modern Hotel Building on April 18, 1936.
