Ufa Harvestehude

Located in the north Hamburg district of Eppendorf. In 1913 a hotel ballroom was converted into the Harvestehuder Lichtspiele by operator James Jeremias Henschel. In 1925 it was taken over by the Ufa chain and re-named Ufa Harvestehude.

After the end of World War II in 1945 it was re-named Kunstlertheater. It later became the Harvestehuder Lichtspiele again. In 1955 it was equipped to screen CinemaScope with a screen 12.5meters x 4.8meters and a 4-channel stereophonic Klangfilm sound system.

In 1957 it returned to the Ufa Harvestehude name and was closed in 1962. It was converted into a supermarket. It has since been demolished.
