Forum Filmtheater Hamm Nord

Located in the city centre district of Hamm Nord. Built on the site of the Germania Palast (1928-1943) which was destroyed by Allied bombs (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The Forum Filmtheater was designed by architect Hans Schneider and opened on 8th September 1951 with 521-seats in orchestra and balcony levels. The Forum Filmtheater was operated by Marie Huppop. The FP 7 projectors were by Phillips. In 1956 CinemaScope was added and the stage was enlarged to 10x8.2 metres. The cinema contained a 4-channel stereophonic sound system with 8 surround speakers. The seats were by Schroeder & Henzelmann. In 1960 it was operated by Anika Behnke. The Fourm Filmtheater was closed in 1968. The building became a supermarket.
