Hammer Lichtspiele

Located in ther centre district of Hamm Nord. The Orpheum Theater was opened in 1913, located at Mittelstrasse 75 (later re-named Carl Petersen Strasse 75) The theatre was operated by Carl Polikowa. In 1920 the cinema was listed as the Reichs Theater and was operated by Antonie Brunner. In 1925 it was operated by Kunodi and was re-named Hammer Lichtspiele. In 1947 Paul Villbrecht & P. Avril operated the Hammer Lichtspiele. and in 1931 Ernst Huppop took over. In 1933 a sound system was installed. The projectors were by Bauer Stuttart. In 1943 the Hammer Lichtspiele was destroyed by Allied bombs during Wotld War II
