Located in the north district of Barmbek Nord. The Kaiser Kino was opened in 1911/1912 at Fuhlsbuttler Strasse 118. In 1918 the Kaiser Kino was operated by Auguste Henrichsen. In 1925 the theater was re-named Scala Lichtspiele and was operated by Dr. O. Taetz. In 1927 Duessel & Schuemann took over. In 1928 the theatre was operated by Hans Duewel and it was listed with 351-seats. In 1929 Max Schuemann operated the cinema. In 1933 a sound system was installed and the projectors were by Bauer. In 1937 the Scala Lichtspiele was operated by Otto Peter. The cinema was destroyed by Allied bombs in 1943, during World War II.

In 1949 a new Scala Lichtspiele #2 was opened at Fuhlsbuttler Strasse 132 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
