Located in the Wandsbek district of Eilbek in the east of the city centre. The Hanse Lichtspiele was opened in 1918. It had 850-seats in orchestra & balcony levels and was operated by August Fick. In 1925 the cinema was operated by Hamburger Lichtspiele Erwerbsgesellschaft GmbH August Fick. In 1932 a Klangfilm sound system was intalled and Paul Besse operated the cinema.

In 1937 it was re-modeled and re-named Regina Lichtspiele. Operated by Oskar Rehr, the seating capacity was reduced to 798. In 1943 the Regina Lichstpiele was destroyed by Allied bombs during World War II.

In 1950 a new cinema named Eilbek Lichtspiele was built and opened on the site (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures as the Die Kogge Eilbek)
