The 200-seat Community Theatre was opened by 1926. By 1929 it had been renamed Cimmarron Theatre and was still operating as a silent movie theatre in 1931 with 200 seats. It was listed as (Closed) in 1932 and disappeared from listings in further 1930’s editions of Film Daily Yearbook. It re-appeared as (Closed) in the 1939 thru 1943 editions of Film Daily Yearbook. On April 30, 1949, the Showmen’s Trade Review wrote, “John E. Hobbs has bought the Cimarron Theatre, Cimarron, N.M., from Narciso Federici.”

The 1949 Film Daily Year Book listed the Cimarron Theatre with 237 seats. It was still open in 1972.
