Harry McAffie built the Marmet Theatre in downtown Marmet. It launched on March 24, 1940 with Myrna Loy in “The Rains Came”. A big crowd showed up on January 11, 1942 when Roy Rogers made an in-person appearance with four stage show showtimes. The theatre appears to have concluded operations on February 14, 1975 likely at the end of a leasing period.
