Jerry Lewis Cinema

The Jerry Lewis Cinema in Meadowbrook Plaza was announced in 1971. The theater was another franchised, automated theatre for the Jerry Lewis Cinema Circuit whose franchisee opened another Jerry Lewis operation in Hopewell. The Meadowbrook Plaza cinema launched on November 24, 1972 with Tom Laughlin in “Billy Jack.” The 350-seat theatre opened as Jerry Lewis Cinemas chain its parent company, Network Cinema Corp., were in free fall heading towards bankruptcy. The theatre struggled to find its audience before closing. The space was retrofitted for other purposes.
