Victoria Theater

The Victoria Theater was opened in 1911 and was operated by Wilhelm Peters. In 1920 the Ufa-Weidenhof Lichtspiele took over the operation. In 1927 it was taken over by Henrik Lutjohan. In 1930 a Tobis sound system was installed. In 1939 Franz Leu operated the cinema. In 1941 it was destroyed by Allied bombs during World War II.

In 1951 the Victoria Theater was rebuilt to the plans of architects Erns Huhn, Adam Wien based in Hagen & O. Menden based in Witton-Ruhr. It had 920-seats. The size of the stage was 9x3x5.7 meters. In 1954 the theatre was renovated to the plans of architect Artur Gerad. A 4-channel stereophonic sound system was installed. The size of the CinemaScope screen was 5.5x11.5 meters. The B 8 projectors were bt Bauer.

The Victoria Theater was closed between 1967 & 1978.
