Located in the Te Aro district of the city centre. The Plaza Theatre was opened in 1934 by the Amalgamated Theatres chain. Seating was provided on stalls and a small circle levels. The auditorium was illuminated by concealed lighting.

It was still open in 1969. It was demolished in 1985.
