Rex Filmtheater Reineckenforf Ost

Located in the Reinickendorf Ost district. The Burgergarten Lichtspiele was opened in 1927 and was operated by Paul & Otto Wernitz. In 1931 a TobiKlangfilm sound system was installed. In 1934 it was re-named National Theater. In 1936 Johannes Betzel took over the operation and the cinema was re-named Rex Filmtheater Reinickendorf Ost. It was closed in 1941 due to wartime conditions.

It was re-opened in 1949. The B 5 projectors were by Bauer. In 1957 a CinemaScope screen was installed. In 1961 Klaus Runge took over the operation.

In 1963 the Rex Filmtheater was closed and demolished. It was replaced by a car showroom and later by a kindergarden.
