Located in the district of Ehrenfeld. The Residenz Filmtheater was opened in 1956. It was operated by Helmut Brandelt. The cinema was designed by architectural firm Reuter & Sohn, based in Bochum. The size of the CinemaScope screen was 3.7x8.9 meters. In 1957 it was re-named Atrium Filmtheater. In 1958 it was taken over by the Ufa Theater AG chain.
The Atrium Filmtheater was closed in 1969. It was later converted into a casino.
