The Star Theatre was a diminutive, silent-era movie theatre in downtown McCook operated by William C. Harmon. It launched April 26, 1919 with 218 seats. The Star Theatre was taken over by McCook Amusement which also operated the Temple Theatre in the 1920’s and built the World Theatre in 1928.

The addition of the World Theatre made the Star Theatre expendable. As the Star Theatre reached the end of a 10-year lease, the theatre was sold to the Fox Circuit along with the Temple Theatre. Fox Theatres closed the Star Theatre never converting it to sound and the theatre was converted for other retail purposes.
