The Ewing Opera House opened in 1908. It became the Quality Theatre, then later Community Theatre in downtown Ewing, Nebraska, served as the diminutive town’s silent movie house. New operator E.L. Davies took on the venue in 1927 but closed there without converting the theatre to sound.

New operator Brooke Tillsworth reopened the theatre in 1931 converting it to sound. True air conditioning was installed by the next operator, Jack Sutherland, in 1936. Several operators later, in the 1950’s, it was upgraded to widescreen projection to present CinemaScope titles. The Eldorado Theatre was still going in the 1960’s under Wayne Pollock.
