The theater needs to be added in the Mid-America Cinema Corp. previously-operated list.

RKO took over the theater in April 1984 following Mid-America’s purchase, but the Twin City closed the following year in 1985.

Kyle Muldrow is correct, it should definitely be 416 South Truman Boulevard. It was on the east side of S. Truman, directly across from the shopping center. I saw a few movies there in the late ‘70s/early '80s, including “Deathtrap” and “National Lampoon’s Vacation.”

Based on a little research on Google Maps, I think the address given for this theater is 416 North Truman Boulevard. I think it should be changed to 416 SOUTH Truman Boulevard. Check it out on Google Maps and I think you’ll see why.

Theatre was listed in the Wehrenberg Theatres ad from February to Sepember of 1985. Then, a note that the theatre was “closed temporarily due to fire.”

Designed by firm of Sauder, Fine and Bildner. There were two auditoria of 300 seats each.

Interesting…the venue actually opened March 22, 1974.
