The Fox Theatre was opened in 1938 by Bruce Powell. The 1950 edition of Film Daily Year Book included the Fox Theatre, 220 seats, in Nora Springs.
It was purchased by Mr. & Mrs. Earl Stanton in 1948. Mr. Stanton died in 1954. On December 5, 1955, Boxoffice reported that Mrs. Earl Stanton had sold the Fox Theatre. The Mercer, Missouri, American Legion Post bought the closed Fox’s equipment.
