Advertised as La Crosse’s newest playhouse in the La Crosse Tribune, August 4, 1906, the Unique Theatre was managed by Lavelle and Michnisky. With admission at 10 cents for adults and 5 cents for children, there were five opening films, including “Street Scenes In Canton China”.

In May of 1917 the La Crosse Tribune referred to the theatre as the old Unique Theatre.

On April 5, 2008, the La Crosse Tribune published a list of 20 movie theatres that have operated in La Crosse over the years and the Unique Theatre was included.
