Temperance Hall

Located in Ossett, 3-miles to the west of Wakefeild, Yorkshire. The Temperance Hall was built in 1888 and was designed by local architect W.A. Kendall. It was opened on 25th August 1888. It opened as a cinema & variety theatre on 28th December 1911. Seating was provided for 470 on the main floor and 80 in the gallery. It was closed in 1918. In 1922 the local council refused to issue a Cinematograph Licence to the owners of the building.

The building still stands in 2022 in use as a church named Newspring Centre.
