According to this article about the theater’s history, the existing theater is actually the second Coliseum Theater on the site and opened in 1957. The 1956 fire, mentioned above, destroyed the first which opened in 1924: View link. The organ probably was destroyed in the fire if had not been previously removed.
Could that Marquee be any less attractive? Especially when compared to the vintage photos posted by LM on 6/6/04.

I was just in Ketchikan and the theater appears to be a twin. It looked dreadful from the outside, but I guess it is all this town has.
This should be updated to a Triplex.
This website has some vintage photos of the Coliseum Theater.
The Film Daily Yearbook;1943 edition gives a seating capacity of 700 for the then single screen Coliseum Theater.
The Coliseum was twinned in 1985 and has been a triplex since 1998.
