The former Olympic Theatre, dates back to 1912, in the Greenville Evening Record. Charles H. Meyer reopened it as the Strand Theatre on April 19, 1926, with Syd Chaplin in “The Man On The Box”.

The Greenville Argus Record reported September 3, 1938, the building had been converted to a church and by the 1950’s it was an automotive shop.

On November 29, 1973, the Argus reported the demolition of the old Strand Theatre, deemed a hazard, had begun. A photo of a brick building accompanied the story.

1922 Sanborn Maps show the former location would be as it today, located next to Swamp Alley with a more modern wooden building on the site.
