The King Theatre opened as early as 1937 (although its opening date has not yet to be found).
Throughout the King Theatre’s first couple of decades, it is a Filipino and foreign house, but updated its policy to a 50/50 of English and foreign films during its final years of operation.
The King Theatre closed for the final time on January 8, 1980 after the theater suffered major damage from a storm.
