The Virgin Cinemas Roppongi Hills opened its doors on April 25, 2003 featuring 9 screens and a 2,081-seat capacity (which later downgraded to 1,819 throughout time).
It was renamed “Virgin TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills” in September 2004, and was renamed to its current “TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills” name on April 4, 2006.
All auditoriums featured two wheelchairs, with Screen 7 being the largest auditorium with 644 (later 521) seats with installations of Dolby Atmos. Screen 8 (formerly Screen 6) has the installation of MediaMation MX4D which was installed in June 2015. Screens 4 and 5 formerly had auditoriums names which were “Premiere” for Screen 4 and “Art” for Screen 5. With Screen 7 being the largest with 521 seats (formerly 644), the other auditoriums had ranging capacities of 97-342 (formerly 79-369).
