As reported in the Los Angeles Times, February 2, 1911, construction started today on a brick theatre, designed by Frank L. Stiff, in the Moorish style, on the Southwest corner of Spadra Avenue (now S. Harbor Boulevard) and W. Commonwealth Avenue. Mrs. Adele Browning was listed as the owner.
It was to be conducted as a moving picture and vaudeville house with forty days as the time limit for completion.
The Fullerton Theatre was open by September 28, 1911. The Santa Ana Register reported manager Speicher of the Fullerton Theatre planned Sunday shows, causing protests from the churches.
By 1913 the Fullerton Theatre was listed in the Fullerton directory at 105 S. Spadra Avenue, R.A. Speicher proprietor.
In September 1919 it was reported the F.E. Miles Grocery store moved into the old Fullerton Theatre.

By 1914, fast-growing Fullerton had four movie theaters listed in the American Motion Picture Directory. As well as the Fullerton Theatre, Spadra Avenue boasted the Little Gem Theatre and the Novelty Theatre, while the Randall Theatre held forth at some unlisted mystery location.
