Star Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1914 Sanborn, in a two-story brick commercial building. This appears to have been constructed sometime between 1890-1900.

This theatre seems to have been closed in favor of the Lido Theatre, which was open by the 1920’s. Later maps (1923 and a later update) are not available online, but this building remained up to at least the early postwar period.

Manly, like many small farm towns, has suffered a steep decline, and downtown is missing a lot of buildings. The location today is a gravel lot between two prefab sheds.
