Columbia Theatre

The Columbia Theatre opened its doors on October 17, 1926 and was first managed by Alex H. Glere. It was located in the Eagles building.

Later operated by Ves Moorman, the Columbia Theatre once briefly closed on December 14, 1945 after its showing of Dick Haymes in “State Fair” (unknown if extras were added) due to the management assisting in combating in the influenza pandemic. This brief closure led to rescheduling plans of several films, including Eddie Bracken’s “Out Of This World” and Walt Disney’s “The Three Caballeros”. The theatre reopened a short time after.

The Columbia Theatre closed for the final time in 1962 after it was leased by Ralph Mescher who was the founder of the Local Eagles. The Eagles building is still in use today by the Eagles 3025.
