The 1950 Film Daily Year Book listed the 434-seat Nubieber Theatre in tiny Nubieber, with a population less than half that size even back then.

Granville MacPherson and L. A. Schelling built the Nubieber Theatre in 1932, according to contemporary reports from Motion Picture Herald.

The November 24, 1956 issue of Boxoffice reported that Dolin Southard had sold the Nubieber Theatre to Frances Hawkins. Southard had purchased the theatre in 1955 from Mrs. E. Sherrill, per a report in the Independent Film Journal.

On March 8, 1971, Boxoffice reported that Nubieber’s “long-shuttered” theatre, “originally opened in 1927,” had been demolished.

As Nubieber was only founded in 1931, the 1971 Boxoffice claim that the theater originally opened in 1927 seems unlikely. The earlier Motion Picture Herald report of a 1932 construction date is probably correct.
