One of the nicer multiplexes that replaced most of the single and twin screen auditorium in the Columbia, Mo. area. Operated by the Goodrich Quality Theatres chain. The Forum 8 Theatre has a very impressive corner entrance in all white and metal trim. There is a small tower over the center of the entrance. The rest of the building is in a dark brick that highlights the entrance. The lobby is large and spacious with a nice concession area and game room to one side. The auditoriums are the typical multiplexes but were fitted with plenty of leg room between seating.

Is this theatre the same design as the Springfield 8? Was it built by Dickinson?

Yes, this was built by Dickinson in the early to mid ‘90’s and is a smaller version of the Springfield 8, which I believe was built first, around 1993. To compare, house #1 at the Springfield 8 seated 455 and was 70mm equipped. It also opened with full curtains over every screen. The Forum 8 house #1 seats 350 and never had curtains and was less luxurious, but still very nice.

This is similar in deisgn to the Northrock 6 in Wichita, KS, which closed many years ago. From the pictures this theatre looks smaller.
