The State staggered in and out of business throughout the 1990s and it is currently closed. Its revival seems unlikely due to a large hole in the roof and the increasingly shabby condition of the interior.

The State has finally been demolished; at this time the lot remains vacant.

There is a building for sale on LoopNet located at 104 W Main, Bowling Green, MO. The building description claims, “Multiple uses over the years include opera house, movie theatre, roller rink, teen town, manufacturing and hardware store”.

Anyone know what the name of this theater was?
