This small theatre, across the street from the Japan Center, specialized in Japanese art house fare. It opened as the Toho Theatre on July 30, 1971 with Toshiro Mifune in “Band of Assassins”. Now converted into a Denny’s.

The Kokusai (this is the correct spelling) was located at 1700 Post Street.

The Kokusai opened as the Toho Theater July 31, 1971, changing its name to Kokusai a year later.
