This small theatre, across the street from the Japan Center, specialized in Japanese art house fare. It opened as the New Toho Theatre on July 30, 1971 with Toshiro Mifune in “Band of Assassins”. In 1972 it was renamed Kokusai Theatre. Following closure it was converted into a Denny’s. When seen in October 2023 it was a restaurant named San Ppo Sushi.
