The Orchard opened around 1910, located on North Avenue near Orchard Street, in what is today the Old Town neighborhood, but what was then a mainly German area (in fact North Avenue was nicknamed “the German Broadway” around the turn of the 20th century). By the 30s, the theater, which sat almost 450, was renamed the Kino or German Kino. It closed around the 50s and has long since been demolished. There is a parking lot where the theater once stood.

There was another German Kino theater in Milwaukee in 1945. I wonder if it was a chain.
