The Century Theatre in London opened as Loew’s London Theatre in 1924, operating under a class A license which allowed for both theatrical performances and motion pictures. It was extensively renovated in 1939, and again in the late 1940s.
The theatre was taken over by United Century Theatres in 1964, renamed the Century Theatre, and converted into a dual auditorium. The auditorium was demolished in the early 1990s, but former patrons still remember the long walk up the entrance hall to enter the theatre proper.
This hallway has been preserved, and now functions as a nightclub and restaurant.

Because a number of previous links to pictures of the theatre from the Ontario Archives have died, here is a complete updated set of pictures from 1941 when it was Loew’s London:

Creation of the Century and Little Century described in this 1966 trade article: Boxoffice
Century Theatre London was originally built and operated by Loew’s Theatres — it was quite ornate. Nat Taylor’s Twinex Century Theatres (a Famous Player partner) took it over in 1964 and made it into two fairly nice theatres. The smaller theatre (The Little Century) was a bit too shotgun in its approach for me. Mike Rogers and TS Loews I just want you guys to know that I hung around and knew this one very well!!
