This drive-in claimed to have the largest screen in the “world” measuring 62 x 45 ft. That is a large screen but I don’t know about it being the largest in the world.
I live here and never heard of that particulair drive-in. There was the Starlight on West Henrietta Road.
NittyRanks……Click on this link and you can see a small picture of this drive-in.

I know this area well.I lived at the other end of LongPond Road, and as kids in the mid 80s we used to hang out there.I dont remember that it was called “The Central” ,we called it Long Pond.
We were there the day they tore it down, and the space is now apartments. Was located adjacent to the Barge Canal.
When we hung out there the place was already abandoned and vandalized.

I have lived & grew up in Gates & remember The Central Drive-In Well with its playground in front og the screen. The whole family would pile into the 53 Chevy & head out there on a Fri or Sat nite & I really have fond memories of an outdoor Movie Palace as I remember it as a young Boy
Operated by the same outfit as the Empire Drive-In (now AMC 12) on Empire Blvd.
