This is a recent night view of the Mount Pleasant Cinema.
This is from Boxoffice magazine in January 1960:
LOS ANGELES-Carthay Circle Theater here is to get the roadshow run of Fox’s “Can-Can”. “Porgy and Bess” closes a 26-week engagement at the house next week. National Theaters' chief film buyer, M.A. Lundgren, will go to New York with Gordon Hewitt to conclude arrangements for the booking, following the world premiere at New York’s Rivoli in March.
I didn’t post the above comment.

Saw a pristine print of ‘Blade Runner: The Final Cut’ here a couple of years ago when Warner Home Video had put out a few prints in limited release to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release.
It is now perhaps the finest neighbourhood single screen left in Toronto; cherish it people, cherish it!

Just noticed the comment posted by IanG about seeing Blade Runner at the Mt. Pleasant. In actual fact, the film was shown at the Regent theatre which is located a block or two south of the Mt. Pleasant. He got one thing right though, the theatre he saw Blade Runner in (the Regent) is the finest single screen neighbourhood cinema left in Toronto… followed closely by the Royal. Both operated by the same company.
