The Cinema Section of Roadside Oklahome is closed, they no longer have theatre photos according to the site. Go to their home page for further details.
Very nice looking theatre, thanks for the photos.
I’m thinking the theater is managed by a non-profit that might be connected with the City of Muskogee – perhaps a call to City Hall might be the best place to start.
Who would a person contact about renting the Roxy Theatre?
Don, those photos confirm that the thatre is alive and well. Tell Billy thanks for all his great photos.
From 2010 a photo of the Roxy Theatre Here and Here in Muskogee.
Chuck 1231, I can confirm that the Roxy is indeed a live venue. I attended a screening during the April 2009 Bare Bones Film Festival at the Roxy, and I sold a photo of the theater for use in promoting their summer 2010 live music lineup.
Cosmic, do you know if the Roxy was reopened as a live venue as mentioned in the Roadside Oklahoma link? I do know that they still need to correct the spelling in the header to Okmulgee Ave. in order for it to map properly.
On this site are recent color photos of the Roxy Theatre.

A 2009 photo is here.
I don’t want to become the new spell checker but “Oklmulgee” in the address above should be Okmulgee. Also, Google maps this address as 220 W. Okmulgee Street.
Here is another 1985 photo.
Some photos – at night with the magnificent marquee ablaze, and during the recent Azalea Festival parade in downtown Muskogee.

Here is a September 2008 photo. The building looks better now.
As Okie Medley posted on Jul 29, 2006, Muskogee Chamber of Commerce gives the opening year as 1948.
“The Roxy plays host to musical guests such as Downtown Country‚ KT Sullivan and Blues on the Move. It also hosts American Indian performances and showcases local and statewide talent.” Source
