The Streamline Moderne style Roxy is still in operation today, under independent ownership. The theater originally opened in 1946. It features movies and live performances, including live theatrical presentations. The Roxy is most notable for its beautiful and colorful neon-lit marquee

its sad the owners of this place are now trying to blackmale the community by saying if they do not have $60,000 donated by the public (a private for profit business) they will be forced to shut down. the reason being that they owners have never switched the projection equipment to digital and starting in 2013 they will be unable to get film because it will all be digital (something any business owner would foreseen) the current business owners have had offers from business owners with the funds to install the new equiptment but the for profit owners will not sale, they have stated that they will close before they sale. this is insane i hope the small community sees thru this sham and let capitalism go to work.
