Single screen first-run house, has stood the test of time very well. The Virginia Theatre opened on July 11, 1937.

It was closed in May 1959, and over the years has had a few openings and closures under different managements. On October 31, 2009, it re-opened as the Virginia Motion Pictures.

oh no the link is dead for their homepage, may need to give a call home to see what is up with the place. Last I heard things were going well.

Things are going very well. We took ownership in January 2006. We’ve added some sound and plan to add more by the end of the year.
Also painted the lobby and had a really nice mural added. Started showing a Wednesday matinee for the summer and have had great response. We’re pulling in alot of people from out of town with advertising. Stop in and see us next time you are in North Baltimore.

I don’t see any online listings showing movies for this theater. I dialed the number I found for this theater, 1.419.257.4800 and there was no answer.

This was the Virginia in 1988. It looked much better in 2008. And it’s still closed.

This beautiful theatre business is currently for sale. Building is not owned and rent is only 10% of sales gross.
