The Ewart Theatre opened in 1909, on Franklin Street, seating a little under 300. Originally a legitimate theater, the Ewart later began screening movies. In the 30s, the theater, under new owners, was renamed the Old Trails Theatre.
From the mid-50s until 1961, the theater was closed, but reopened again in 1961 for eleven more years. Later the building was used as an auction house, then an auto supply store.
It is currently used for storage and residential use.
