This is an adequate modern multiplex, efficient but soulless, run by the Marcus chain. Just another maze of movies and overpriced popcorn topped with imitation butter. Your film is playing, slightly out of focus, in the seventh sticky shoebox down the left hallway…

Haha nice description. Please note that the following construction timetable roughly mirrors Eastgate on the other side of town, besides the obvious lack of an UltraScreen over there.

Marcus has announced plans to upgrade the Ultrascreen auditorium. In addition to a 3-story high 76 foot wide DLX screen, there will be seating in electric Dream Lounger leather recliners, Dolby Atmos immersive sound, and reserved seating. Alcoholic drinks purchased in the Take Five lounge will be allowed to be taken into the theater.

I visited this theater yesterday and must say, was very impressed. It is truly nice to see an older multiplex given new life. Everything was spotless, there was still a faint smell of new carpet, the employees were friendly, all the refreshments and food we purchased left nothing to be desired. The ultra-screen experience was almost perfect… The Dolby Atmos sounded great, the auditorium was beautiful, and I loved the seats. I am just slightly disappointed in their choice of an NEC projector. The clarity and color just wasn’t there. It even appeared slightly out of focus for the entire feature. That’s my only complaint though, this is a great theater.
