The Carmike 12 was the last of tne new theatres built in the Salt Lake City area before the stadium seating craze started. A later remodel though brought in stadium seating to help compete with the new Megaplex 17 at Jordan Commons and the new Carmike 24 at Jordans Landing.

Originally six of the auditoriums were certified for THX but after the remodel it was reduced to two. The same floor plan that was used for the Carmike 12 was used in the Carmike Wynnsong in Provo.
