Electric Theatre

Viewing: Photo | Street View

Built by C. Whipple, J. Rymm and S. Hardy the Electric theatre opened in downtown St. George in 1911. With walls at least three feet thick the theatre was done in an adobe style. It seated 220. It was the first air conditioned building in St. George.

The Electric changed ownership in 1930 and was renamed the Gaiety. During a later renovation it reverted back to its original name the Electric.

In 2003 after another renovation the Electric became a venue for music, bands and live performances. It is still in operation today.
