From the photos the screen decor now looks very grey and drab compared to before. Have they taken out the Cineworld logos and red LED strips or did the smaller screens not have them to begin with?

Not content with trying to force out the Prince Charles Cinema, it seems landlord Asif Aziz is playing dirty here too: https://www.londoncentric.media/p/picturehouse-central-cinema-london-asif-aziz-restrictions
With Renfrew Street being taken over by Omniplex, Cineworld have announced that they will be bringing 4DX here and all regular screens will be upgraded to recliner seating.
The building was acquired earlier this year by a subsidiary of Omniplex cinemas, who terminated Cineworld’s lease. Last day of operation as a Cineworld is set to be 28th September.
I’ve added a photo illustrating the reduced width of the Superscreen - compare to older photos. Note black levels are much better than appear in the photo. This photo shows the credits to Wicked which is a 2.39:1 ratio.
Interestingly looking at photos of the original Impact screen (as Empire called it) when new it appears to be a floating screen that the projector was incapable of filling, subsequently masked.
Visited the Superscreen today and a few seats in row H (two rows in front of the booth) have been removed and the space blocked off.
Screen width is now reduced with what appears to be additional masking but height remains the same, making Scope content look a bit strange with a significant amount of unmasked screen space above and below. Presumably the new projector is unable to cope with the relatively short throw versus screen size - a retrograde step and hopefully something they can rectify in time.
Seats immediately in front of and adjacent to the projection booth are showing as unavailable when booking a screening; I intend to visit on Tuesday so will be interesting to see if the booth has been expanded.
The Superscreen is getting a new HDR capable Barco projector, and a new Harkness Hugo screen to coincide with the release of Gladiator II. https://variety.com/2024/film/global/gladiator-2-cineworld-first-hdr-by-barco-theater-international-1236206252/
A response to a comment on Cineworld Leicester Square’s Facebook page says “All brand new seats, screen and equipment!” - wonder if they took the chance to refurbish and update during the closure, or if the landlord stripped everything out?
The VIP product (recliner seats plus an included buffet and snacks) ends as of 8th May, and the screens will reopen at a £3 uplift over normal seats. No news as yet as to whether the bar will be retained for all cinema users and if access to the screens will be altered.

Being stripped back to its shell by AviDan Group with removal of all non-load bearing walls, and non-structural concrete floors excavated.
Cinema opens on 20th February, cafe bar already open.
At a screening of The Brutalist tonight I was pleasantly surprised to see correctly programmed lighting cues for the intermission.
Announced as being taken over by Vue https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c99yr28v29eo

Cineworld has just sent out an email announcing that the cinema is to close on 30th December, as the landlord will not accept their rent proposals.

Now has black seats instead of red, the only obvious change.
Now open, will be visiting tomorrow so will report back any changes
According to a post on Reddit the cinema was occupied by squatters a day after closure, who broke a window and barricaded the doors from inside.

VIP lounge is now available to all as a bar and serves as access to the former VIP screens now renumbered 17-19.
