Has this theater closed also? The posting on the Sea Theater which is now closed said it was the last operating theater in Wildwood.Wildwood had great theaters when I was growing up. UGH If so update status to closed.
Need to update to 3 screens. The 3 smaller screens were added in front of the large single screen that once was the only screen. The large original screen was kept in tact after the 3 new smaller ones were added.
Went to this theater 2 times. Once in the 60’s and saw a double feature The Cincinatti Kid and The Hill and again in 1983 and saw Snow WHite and another Disney movies. Both times all films were flat. B+NEver saw a scope movie on there big screen.
Actually I wish they wold bring back 70MM This new 3D phase sucks. I have seen 3 3D movies since they started with Avitar and don’t find anything impressive about it excpet it’s a way to rip us off for more money at the box office. The old 3D years ago never involved additional money.
Ok I am confused. Is the above photo a new photo or an old one. In looking throught the photos I saw on that showed the marquee totally gone and a new front for the Rock Church.
Snow White and The Huntsman opens June 1 in digital. It has never been unusual for theaters to close for a few weeks. When I lived in NYC in the late 70’s and early 80’s they did it all the time.I remember they played New York New York from Memorial day weekend until the Thursday before labor day and than closed and had nothing for labor day weekend. They reopened a few weeks later.
I was there a few times. I saw a re release of American Graffiti and Chapter One in the late 70’s before it was twinned than saw one movie in the upstairs theater but can’t rememebr what it was.
It didn’t say REgal. I went to Tally many times between 1986 and 1990. There was a UA theater that operated as a $1.00 discount house, a theater in a small mall and a theater operated by Eastern Federal theaters right near the Governors mall. I don’t find any of these listed here on CT.
If I remember correctly this theater had the exclusive showingin 1978 of the movie version of A Little Night Music with Elizabeth Taylor which never played Manhattan.
Is it still closing at the end of this season?

What happened to the Strand4?
The article also said that this is probably short lived because of the fil mindustry going digital in Dec.
So is the closure permanant or temporary?

Why wasn’t the Ziegfeld on this list? Once again they give megaplexes everything.
Great theater and they got a grant and they were able to install digital projection.
When I was in the area in 1991 ir had benn covnereted to a bookstore.
I did go there but work blocked it as a dangerous site. SIGH. Are they stillshowing movies Howard?

We were in Atlanta a few months backa nd the drive in marquee is amazing. I couldn’t see any of the screens from the street.
OMG if AMC gets a hold of this they will ruin the Ziegfeld.
