I had a look at Dallas newspapers, all the adult ads (including the big ones)were text only but no pictures and all of then had the words “not suitable"
in Montreal, there were never any restrictions (massive ads in the French papers.)

Listed in the LA times 1971-1977, in 1977 the LA times started to refuse ads for adult entertainment (it was almost 2 full pages).

This was built by Cineplex, this was their 1st US theatre after building miniplexes in Toronto and elsewhere in Canada.

Clones of the theatre was built in Dallax TX and Oak brook IL (Chicago) all opened in 1968, in Dallas it was called Cine' 150

Tim, Montreal Gazette reports that Guzzo is not interasted in any of the theatres, (they opened a 14-plex in may and a 18-plex is opening on the 29th. in Montreal.)

Tim, the Montreal papers reports that a small quebec chain Cine-Enterprise wants to buy the 35 leftover cinemas in Canada. They have theatres in suburban Montréal, Trois Rivieres area, Granby and in Saguenay. that will get then everywhere else in Canada.

Montreal newspaper reports that Cine-Enterprise is bidding for some of the Cineplex Odeons and Famous players theatres (35 locations in all). Cine enterprises has 3 in suburban Montreal, Trois Rivieres, Granby, Saguenay.
also the Gazette reports that Versailles 6, Cote Des Neiges 7, Cavendish 8, Delson 7, St. Burno 11 and Dorion 7 will be sold off.

Cineplex will have total control of the Edmonton and Calgary Markets

other cities in canada, only in Montreal Cinemas Guzzo and in Toronto AMC.

I sure that the Competition Bureau will force some cinemas to be sold.

in Montreal there were 2 different “Cinéma de Paris”

this postcard refers to the old Cinema de Paris (which was owned by France-Film) at 694 St. Catherine W (now club supersexe)

the larger cinema was showing “Star Wars” and the smaller cinema was showing a porno double bill, I wonder how many crossovers?

In the case of Quebec City, which 98% of the population speak French, the IMAX was unable to book any hollywood IMAX movies like The Polar Express, which was packin'em in at the Paramount in Montréal and elsewhere, Is Famous Players planning to add an IMAX at StarCite Ste Foy nearby?
