Located just off U.S. 5. The East Hartford Family Drive-In was opened July 31, 1954 with Alan Ladd in “Botany Bay” & Doris Day in “Calamity Jane”. It was operated by Bernard E. Francis. It was later owned by the SBC chain. Asking price for the land is a couple million dollars. According to the few comments on the drive-ins.com website, it featured and still has standing, a concession booth, ticketbooth, skeleton screen and marquee. It was demolished in early-2020.

This drive-in was demolished earlier this year. The site has been completely leveled and no trace of the drive-in remains.
There is now a 10 foot ditch for many acres of what used to be here. Too sad, I was going to explore it.

I’m so sick pf this. I have contacted every towns historic society and the ct historic board to try to save these places. Ive tried to buy them. With thos one I contacted the state. No one gives you the time of day.
