Opened on September 15, 1949 with June Haver in “Look For the Silver Lining”. The Burnside Theatre is listed twice in the 1950 edition of Film Daily Yearbook under Hartford with 800 seats and under Burnside with 750 seats. It was designed by Brooklyn, NY architect Morris Rothenberg. It was twinned on March 19, 1975. This theatre in East Hartford closed in 1980.

1964? and I know for sure 1967, Brandt Theaters of 42nd St., New York, N. Y. Harry had 119 theaters in 1967. Anyone know what happened to Brandt?

Owned by Morris Kepner until closing I worked as one of the projectionist
when it was a single and then a twin. I never remenber of Brandt
