Westland 8 was a basic 80’s style General Cinema building, with 2 wings holding 4 screens each coming off of a common lobby. 2 of the theatres in each wing were equipped for Dolby Stereo. Theatre added Dolby EX in the largest room for THE HAUNTING. Nice, but nothing exceptional.
Remember the Westland 1 and 2, thinking seeing Jason and the Argonauts, with my girlfriend, and her baby brother, JASON.
Westland 1 & 2 were in the strip mall just to the east of this location.
This opened on April 25th, 1986. Grand opening ad posted.
This theater has been recently demolished in 2023, they’re planning on demolishing the entire Westland Mall but for right now they’re only doing the outparcels.
