News About This Theater

Claremont Theatre

Opened as the Allen Theatre on September 16, 1918 with Lillian Gish in “Hearts of the World”. It became the Westmount Theatre in 1926. It was renamed Claremont Theatre on March 30, 1973. It operated until 1984 after which I presume it closed.

It’s now a drugstore. It was a United Amusement/Cinémas Unis theatre.

This became the Claremount on March 30th, 1973, to avoid confusion with the Cinema at Westmount Square. Announcement ads as well as pictures and their AI enhanced versions posted.
