The Venus Theatre was opened on March 8, 1950 with Danny Kaye in “The Inspector General”. It was part of OK Theater Enterprises from 1959. President was Oscar Korn. It later screened Spanish language movies, renamed Cine Venus and continued to operate into the mid-1980’s.

Other OK theaters in the early sixties were the Avalon, Grand, Al Ray and Hi-Nabor Drive-In in Houston and the Galena Theater in Galena Park, TX.
Here is the Venus in August of 1997. It was in Denver Harbor on Lyons, just off Market Street.
